My Passport

My passport is very important, It is the document and ID that proves who I am.

It's also the document which allows me to fly on an airplane.

Without it I cannot fly.

My passport also tells someone that I belong.

I belong somewhere.

I have a nationality and a homeland.

I could fly to anywhere in the world but I have a home where I will be welcomed.

I could go to another country and I will be welcomed as a tourist, but I cannot stay forever. At some point they will ask me to stay and say that I am not welcome any more.

Christians have two passports, One is a physical passport and the other is the Holy Spirit inside of us, as a guarantee of somewhere else in the future.

Our home in Heaven.

When we become believers in Jesus, God gives us his Holy Spirit to live inside of us as a guarantee, We may not have heaven yet but the Holy Spirit is the guarantee that one day we will go there to be with God.

We will be citizens of heaven.

We won't need a passport or visa.

We will be able to be with God for ever and ever.

What a wonderful experience that will be.
