We report on a hot track by Lecrae and Tori Kelly
The latest single from Christendom's top rapper Lecrae is an inspirational duet with one of the most highly regarded new pop singers, Tori Kelly. With fine production from Frank E and Danny Majic, "I'll Find You" has one of the most powerful raps ever uttered by the renowned rapper: "Death's knocking on the front door/Pain creeping through the back/Fear is calling through the windows waiting for 'em to attack/They don't say, 'don't get bitter, get better'/I'm working on switching them letters/But tell God I'ma need a whole lot hope of keeping it together." Then in comes Tori's angelic sung hook, "Just fight a little longer, my friend/it's all worth it in the end/When you got nobody to turn to/Hold on, and I'll find you."
Lecrae explained the song's message. "Life is a precious gift, a gift we often take for granted until it is threatened. Pain can be a haunting reminder to appreciate every waking moment." While "I'll Find You" was being written, its message took on a personal significance. He said, "At the time of this song's composition some of our loved ones were battling cancer. We wanted to encourage them to hold on and tell them we are here waiting, hoping, praying and fighting with them. Some have been released from their pain forever, others are still fighting. Hold on."
In 2015 California-born singer/songwriter Tori Kelly released her critically acclaimed debut album 'Unbreakable Smile' and the following year was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the Grammys. Tori has spoken openly about her Christianity. She said, "My faith is a huge part of my life. I don't force it into my music but it's in my experience so it comes through. People pick up on what they want to pick up on but any way that strangers connect to a song that I wrote is awesome."
