It's a needed job
When you live in a land where there is so much dust, your windows need cleaning.
The dust gets onto the windows and makes it difficult to see through.
You don't want to be looking through a dirty window.
It can be the same with our spiritual life.
God wants to have a relationship with us and when we turned to him our spiritual life came alive.
But living day by day as a Christian can be a challenge.
Every day we are in a spiritual battle.
The battle is between the flesh and the spirit.
I want to do what God wants me to do but I also want to do my own thing too.
Lusts and temptations get in the way and when we fall into those temptations we get ourselves dirty.
The more dirty we get the harder it is to hear God speaking and have that special relationship that God wants us to have.
The dirt gets in the way and over time if you don't clean then you won't be able to hear at all.
Just like if a window gets more and more dirty you won't be able to see through it.
Keep your eyes focused on Jesus when your life does get dirty make sure you deal with it quickly by asking forgiveness.
Keep your sin account short.
