Isaiah's prophecy
Isaiah prophesied about the death of Jesus.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before the shearer is silent so he did not open his mouth. IS 53 v 7
Isaiah 53 tells us all about the Messiah.
He was from the 8th Century BC a long time before Jesus was born.
I wonder if people thought he was a little crazy talking about a messiah that would come and be rejected.
Perhaps Isaiah waited and waited for his prophecy to come true.
We know now that he died waiting for that prophecy to be fulfilled.
He never saw it come about.
But we know as we look back in time it was fulfilled and in a wonderful way.
Isaiah was right!!
He could see that a messiah would come and be rejected.
He maybe didn't know how he would be rejected, we have that privilege today.
But Isaiah was right.
It was the spirit of God inside of him which caused him to prophecy this wonderful event.
Jesus came and was despised and rejected by men, he was crucified and died.
But God used all of this for his good.
The death of Jesus was to Crush Satan's head which we read about in the book of Genesis.
Adam and Eve sinned and God promised someone would come and crush the head of the snake.
Jesus crushed the head, He destroyed sin's power and brought forgiveness for you and me.
Today we are forgiven because of Jesus.
We can receive God's free gift of Grace.
Actually it is not free, Someone paid, We get it for free but someone paid our sin debt.
Jesus 2000 years ago on the cross.
Have you received God's grace today ?
What are you waiting for?
