Is this correct?
There are many things that we believe that are traditions but not biblical.
If I was to ask you how many wise men came to visit Jesus?
You may answer three.
Well that is not correct, Traditionally we believe that 3 wise men visited Jesus But the bible doesn't actually say, The bible says wise men visited Jesus, it doesn't tell us how many.
You may say there were three gifts so there must be three wise men.
But we need to be careful what we add to the bible.
It's not a big argument whether there were three wise men or ten, you wouldn't cause a split in the church over it but it does show how we can get pulled into tradition and not fact.
The bible is our source and guide.
We may have traditions and stories but ultimately if they contradict the bible then the bible is our guiding line.
Keep your life in God's word because it will lead you in life, It is living and active and a source of comfort in times of trouble and difficulty.

The bible is your guide, If the Pastor or Priest tells you something and it is not in the bible then it is just tradition and not necessarily biblical.
